As Christians, we need to fully understand that we are in spiritual warfare, against the devil. Be aware of the devil that is on the prowl:

• The devil will try to destroy us spiritually.
• Satan will try to deceive us with lies, false teachings; uses false religions to deceive us.
• Satan will try to temp us.
• Satan will make false accusation against us.
• We need to stay alert, we need to stand firm.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14

13 Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done with love.

To defend ourselves, we need knowledge of the Word.

• Our “sword” our “weapon” is the Word of God; the Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God.
• Everything that we need to defend ourselves is contained in the Word of God.
• Through the Word of God we gain Wisdom.

o We have to know the word of God to be able to defend it.
o Through the Word of God we can be aware of false teachings,
